Reading Specialist Full Time - $100 per hour

About the role

Come work for a local woman‑SLP‑owned company based in Boston where we value your work and ensure manageable caseloads and appropriate workspace. Owned and operated by therapists, Boston Speech Therapy seeks a Reading Specialist for a full‑time, in‑person position. You will provide individualized support to students facing reading and literacy challenges, fostering strong reading skills and a love for learning. The caseload is currently 27 students.

Responsibilities

• Administer assessments to evaluate students' reading levels and identify specific needs
• Develop and implement tailored instructional plans that address individual student challenges
• Provide one‑on‑one or small group reading instruction focusing on fluency, comprehension, and phonics
• Employ a range of evidence‑based teaching strategies and materials to enhance learning
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and specialists to monitor progress and modify instruction as necessary
• Keep detailed records of student progress and assessment results

Requirements

• MA Reading Specialist/Teacher License
• OG and Wilson Certified preferred
• Previous experience as a Reading Specialist or in a related educational role
• Strong grasp of evidence‑based reading instruction methods
• Ability to assess individual student needs and develop effective intervention strategies
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Flexibility in adapting instruction to meet diverse learning needs
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
