About the role

As a part-time tutor at Martha Gaskins Elementary School (200 Dalton Dr, Birmingham, AL 35215), you’ll serve as an advocate, difference maker, and mentor for students. Using our proven curriculum and ongoing support, you’ll guide and empower students in reading, mathematics, and writing to help them achieve their best.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose learning skill deficits and deliver prescribed instructional methods as determined by the Company.
• Consult with school personnel to coordinate efforts in providing services to students.
• Communicate and conference with parents regarding student progress.
• Attend training sessions and deliver designated instructional models and strategies in readiness, reading, mathematics, and/or writing using Company-designed materials.
• Develop and maintain individualized, skill-appropriate lesson plans.
• Ensure supervision of students, including escorting them safely to and from sessions.
• Establish and maintain student forms and files as required by the Company, local, state, and/or federal agencies.
• Attend and document meetings/training with Company Supervisors, classroom teachers, principals, and parents as required.
• Maintain inventory of educational materials and supplies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Proper Professional Educator License credentials recognized by the State of Alabama as a Properly Licensed Teacher.
• Completion of an FBI/BCI background check.
• Teaching experience preferred.
• Unwavering belief that all children can learn.
• Ability to navigate online platforms for record keeping and communication.

Pay

USD $30.00 - $32.00 per hour.

Physical environment/working conditions: Light lifting, walking, climbing stairs. Most programs are in school settings.
