Rapid City SBDC Regional Director
The South Dakota Small Business Development Center (SBDC) is hiring for a Regional Director for the Rapid City SBDC office.
About the Role
This full-time position is located in the West River Foundation building with regular office hours (8am to 5pm, Monday through Friday). The Regional Director works with entrepreneurs to develop business plans, performs financial analysis, and supports other areas relating to business ownership or starting a business. The role involves networking with the business community, including lenders, economic development officials, and ecosystem partners (SBA, GOED, etc.). The position also supervises SBDC staff in Rapid City.
Travel, overnight stays, and a valid driver’s license are required. Prolonged use of a computer/mouse and standing during workshops or training events are typical conditions.
Requirements
- Four-year degree in Business or a related field (MBA or similar advanced business degree preferred).
- Past business management, ownership, or consulting experience may be considered in lieu of educational attainment.
- Strong analytical, reasoning, and calculation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with intense customer interaction.
- Proficiency in verbal and written communication, reading, and comprehension.
- Experience with fine finger manipulation (e.g., keyboarding), repetitive motion, and sustained standing or wrist movement.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel.
