Railcar Prepper

About the role

Road & Rail Services is seeking Railcar Preppers to support the safe transportation of vehicles across the country. The role involves outdoor work in an industrial rail yard, inspecting railcars, opening and securing doors, removing debris, preparing railcars for transport, identifying repair needs, and ensuring safety.

Responsibilities

• Inspect railcars for damage, defects, and safety concerns
• Open and secure railcar doors and equipment
• Remove debris using backpack blowers and hand tools
• Prepare railcars for loading and transport
• Identify repair needs and report issues
• Safely operate tools and equipment
• Follow all company, customer, and industry safety standards

Requirements

• Strong work ethic and dependable attendance
• Comfortable with physical labor, including climbing, bending, stooping, lifting, walking, and standing throughout the shift
• Ability to work safely in a fast-paced industrial environment
• Team-oriented attitude with a commitment to quality work
• Valid Driver's License required
