Position Summary

The Rail Truck Sales Team Manager will drive sales of Orange EV trucks to rail customers, including railroads and Intermodal rail terminal operators. Key responsibilities include influencing communication and messaging, generating and nurturing prospects, customizing solutions, identifying grant/funding opportunities, participating in trade shows, and other activities to accelerate sales growth.

Position Responsibilities

  • Leverage existing relationships and build new ones with railroads and contract operators across the country
  • Create and manage the sales funnel for accounts and ensure timely progress on leads and prospects
  • Convey data, insights, Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) calculations, and other guidance to help build prospects' comfort with transitioning to electric vehicles
  • Identify and leverage external funding sources for grants and incentives to assist customers with purchasing
  • Understand infrastructure needs for electrical power requirements and charging solutions to support the trucks
  • Travel as needed for in-person customer visits, site assessments, demos, and customer training
  • Nurture existing customer relationships to ensure all needs are met and accelerate future orders
  • Identify improvement opportunities in sales materials and resources and bring ideas to optimize them
  • Collaborate with teammates and cross-functionally to provide the best customer experience
  • Partner with other Regional Sales Managers as needed
  • Leverage various internal resources to enhance sales and marketing materials and outreach
  • Provide technical information or respond to customer questions

Position Qualifications

  • Existing relationships with rail procurement and operations management and executives
  • 5+ Years of demonstrated successful sales experience selling Class 8 trucks or truck-related components into rail, port, logistics, intermodal, or supply chain operations
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Willingness and ability to travel and be on-site with customers or attend relevant trade shows and conferences
  • Proven technical ability to understand and communicate component functionality
  • Commercial Vehicle / Equipment experience
  • Success engaging at multiple (including senior) levels in a prospect’s organization for complex sales
  • Familiarity with CRM systems (ideally Salesforce) for relationship and sales funnel management
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) including demonstrated competence with Excel to talk through financial modeling of recommended solutions
  • Strong written, verbal communication and presentation skills
  • A “can do” attitude, collaborative approach, and ability to structure “win-win" deals
  • Passion, drive, self-motivation, and competitive fire
