About the role

The Rail Logistics Coordinator plays a crucial role in the transportation of lumber by rail to various national destinations. This position involves logistical coordination, interaction with internal and external stakeholders, and handling customer inquiries and claims.

Responsibilities

  • Review, prepare, and process waybills from U.S. origins
  • Accrue freight payables on rail transactions for appropriate rail carriers
  • Oversee and address all delayed and late rail shipments
  • Primary lead for internal and external trace requests and general customer service inquiries
  • Process reconsignment and diversion requests
  • Maintain quarterly performance reports of class-one rail carriers
  • Keep accurate inventory records of railroad supplied equipment
  • Handle freight claims and investigate damaged or vandalized shipments
  • Utilize Docuware for accurate record retention
  • Become cross-trained on other duties within the department to help as needed
