Radiology Transport Nurse (RN)

About the Role

Provides appropriate nursing support and implements evidence-based measures to ensure the well-being of patients receiving care and treatment in interventional procedural areas and radiology imaging. This includes adequate and safe monitoring of patients before, during, and after interventional procedures. Interventional Radiology Nurses (IRRN) must understand the nursing process, provide standard care, ensure quality improvement, and influence departmental activities.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patients before, during, and after interventional procedures.
• Implement evidence-based nursing measures to ensure patient well-being.
• Manage and prioritize patient care in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrate knowledge of common disease processes, treatment modalities, and interventions.
• Complete work assignments and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Current active California Registered Nurse License.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS and ACLS certifications.
• EKG course and PALS certification required within 90 days of hire/transfer.
• Able to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
• General knowledge of all areas of nursing practice, including sedation.

Qualifications

• Six months of experience in critical care or emergency room (within the past three years) preferred.
• Interventional Radiology nursing experience preferred.

Skills

• Ability to work and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective management, prioritization, and delegation of patient care.

Equipment Used

• Computers, monitors, printers, fax machines, photocopiers.
• Omnicell, telephones, IV pumps, and procedural room equipment.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to perform the essential physical requirements of the job.

Pay

$47.90 - $71.84 per hour. The posted pay range reflects the lowest to highest pay available for this position at the time of posting and may be subject to change. Salary offers are determined by candidate’s relevant experience and skills. For per diem positions, a standard rate is used based on market data and not the candidate’s individual experience.
