About the Role
Performs ionizing radiation procedures, including CT scans, following protocols and ensuring accurate patient positioning and safety. Communicates effectively with physicians, patients, and team members, explaining procedures and obtaining necessary histories. Maintains organized, clean, and stocked workspaces, prepares supplies, and manages contrast media protocols. Operates imaging equipment, including 3D imaging and multiplanar reconstruction, and responds appropriately to emergencies.
Responsibilities
- Identify patients and procedures, coordinate with medical staff, and inform patients about delays.
- Perform procedures accurately per established protocols, ensuring timely completion and proper documentation.
- Assist in training co-workers and students, and support other technologists as needed.
- Operate PACS, verify studies, and report equipment issues.
- Complete contrast and procedure documentation, and communicate with radiologists for protocol adjustments.
- Maintain competency, perform point-of-care testing, and perform warm-up calibrations.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
- ARRT registered and licensed in CT; CPR certification; SCRQSA certification (for South Carolina).
- Excellent customer service, basic computer skills, and knowledge of office equipment.
- Data entry skills; preferred 3D imaging skills.
Additional Information
Non-management role reporting to a supervisor or manager.
Work primarily during night shifts.
