Job Summary
To perform radiology, CT and examinations as directed by practitioners to provide data for diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease. This technologist is a vital member of the Diagnostic Imaging department who is accountable to the Imaging Director for working to meet the needs of customers/patients in the continuous pursuit of cost effective and high quality health care.
Job Qualifications
- Experience: Previous experience as a Radiological Technologist
- Education: Graduate of an accredited program in Radiologic Technology
- Req. Cert./ Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology Registration
- CPR certified
- Must be licensed by the State of Kansas to perform Radiography
- Maintain continuing education requirements per ARRT requirements.
Job Duties
- Carries out directives in a positive manner and accepts responsibility for follow-up.
- Affords assistance in maintaining adequate supplies in the department.
- Takes quality radiographs as directed by practitioner.
- Aids and assists practitioners in techniques that require technical assistance.
- Operates the CT scanner efficiently.
- Works scheduled hours yet is flexible with the schedule to meet the needs of the department.
- Affords assistance in maintaining the department’s QI requirements.
- Maintains proper safety precautions for patients and staff.
- Affords assistance in scheduling patients for the department, both in-house and mobile services.
- Affords assistance in charging the patient, and ensures that this is done correctly.
- Affords assistance in maintaining equipment and processor.
- Affords assistance in maintaining the department’s filing system, including the purging of out-dated films and shredding of papers, when indicated.
- Performs all other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
- Ensures for an effective, reliable consistent flow of information to and from other departments of the facility.
- Positively promotes NVCH throughout the facility and the community.
