About the role
Provide patient appointment scheduling and customer service functions with a personable and professional manner. Duties include scheduling appointments, patient reception, appointment check-in, insurance verification, and other related tasks as assigned. Work may vary in percentage of time per function, location, and schedule.
Schedule
1.0 FTE - 40 hours per week: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Ability to communicate effectively in a personable and professional manner
- Ability to respond patiently and effectively to questions from patients, family, providers, and staff
- Strong computer skills and ability to learn and adapt to new software
- Working knowledge of HIPAA guidelines
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships in a fast-paced healthcare setting with patients, families, and healthcare personnel
- Ability to organize and prioritize work independently with strong attention to detail and critical thinking
- Competency in medical terminology and healthcare business environment
- Ability to remain flexible and adapt to accommodate changes in work requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- Two years post-secondary education in Health Care or Business Administration
- Healthcare scheduling experience (five years strongly preferred)
- EPIC experience strongly preferred
