Radiology Scheduler II

Duties

• Verifies and obtains all Worker's Compensation, MVA, Health insurance coverages and pre-certs/Authorizations prior to patients appointments
• Retrieves all incoming messages on a daily basis and follows up with patients/physicians immediately after message checked
• Makes sure that all scripts are obtained prior to patient's appointment.
• Ensures that scripts are valid and include dx code, procedure, and doctor information.
• Verifies all non-staff physicians through OIG and obtains proper license verification.
• Confirms all patient appointments for the next day and notifies patients to bring co-pays if needed.
• Prints and burns CD of images provided to patient and physicians
• Faxes imaging reports to referring physicians
• Prints daily schedules and provides them to the Radiology and Registration departments including department managers

Education & Experience Requirements

• High School Diploma Required
• College Degree Preferred
• 1 - 2 years of hospital setting experience in scheduling
• Knowledge of all medical imaging modality exams
• Knowledge of file room
• Knowledge of medical imaging terminology
• Knowledge of imaging modalities and procedures
• Knowledge of PACS, CareVue, MediTech
