About the role

As a member of the Optum Care Delivery team, you’ll help advance our vision to make healthcare better for everyone by providing clinical resources, data, and support from a global organization. This role is part of Optum Radiology and involves scheduling radiology procedures while delivering excellent customer service and adhering to Lean processes.
Responsibilities
- Obtain accurate and updated patient information, including name, address, and insurance details
- Maintain an average of 65+ inbound calls daily
- Monitor and maintain continuity of care through scheduling and tracking systems
- Perform insurance verification on the date of service
- Schedule radiology procedures in an organized and efficient manner
- File and maintain medical records
- Confirm and schedule appointments
- Answer incoming and outgoing telephone calls promptly and courteously
- Perform referral documentation promptly
- Follow up with patients for scheduling specialist appointments, follow-up visits, and obtaining lab results or specialist reports
- Adhere to Optum Employee Policies via Sparq
- Work cohesively with team members to achieve specific goals
- Participate in planning, coordinating, and implementing care with the multidisciplinary team
- Assure continuity of care through scheduling and tracking systems
- Provide effective communication to patients, family, team members, and healthcare professionals
- Comply with administrative policies to ensure quality of care
- Demonstrate precision and efficiency in scanning documents, monitoring the fax server, and managing electronic charts
- Keep abreast of current medical requirements, including patient confidentiality and HIPAA/OSHA compliance
- Cross-train and assist in other locations as needed
Schedule
- Monday through Friday, 40-hour work week between 7:00 am and 4:00 pm
- Rotating Saturdays between 8:00 am and 3:00 pm (schedule determined by supervisor upon hire)
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1+ years of customer service or healthcare-related experience
- 1+ years of computer proficiency, including multi-tasking through Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
- Ability to work a 40-hour work week with rotating Saturdays
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with an electronic health record (EPIC)
- Knowledge of radiology and medical terminology
- 1+ years of experience in a call center
- Experience working with scheduling programs
- 1+ years of experience in a medical office position

Pay
The hourly pay for this role ranges from $16 to $29 per hour based on full-time employment, subject to eligibility requirements and applicable local labor market factors.
