Duties and Responsibilities
- Plans, organizes, and directs radiology service provision for patients.
- Supervises department personnel and all radiology, nuclear medicine, ultrasound, and prison facility radiographic procedures.
- Provides radiology and ultrasound services under the guidance of a Radiologist or other physicians.
- Establishes procedures to ensure quality of services and timely reporting of results.
- Oversees the performance of staff members and establishes care protocols for neonates, pediatric, adolescent, and geriatric patients.
- Affirms the need for quality assurance and improvement initiatives.
- Maintains confidentiality and follows aseptic procedures during patient interactions.
- Manages department functions, initiates policies, and ensures compliance with regulatory standards.
- Monitors department budget and utilizes resources effectively.
- Interacts with medical staff and other department managers.
- Follows safety guidelines and policies.
Job Qualifications
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program. An associate or bachelor's degree in Science is preferred.
- Experience: Three years of experience as a Registered Technologist in a medical setting, with supervisory experience preferred. Training in CT scanning and ultrasound is desirable.
- Licensure, Registry, or Certification: ARRT or ARCRT certification is required, along with a current Texas license.
