About the role

The Radiologic Technologist will perform optimal radiographs for all patient populations by proper positioning and exposure settings. This role participates in cross-training activities to function in multi-modality roles and meets patient care needs within the scope of practice. The technologist will interact with hospital staff and/or nursing departments regarding patient care, concerns, and conflicts, assisting in resolution. Accountable for maintaining performance skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform optimal radiographs for all patient populations through proper positioning and exposure settings
• Participate in cross-training activities to function in multi-modality roles
• Perform all duties to meet patient care needs within the scope of practice
• Interact with hospital staff and/or nursing departments regarding patient care, concerns, and conflicts, identifying and assisting in resolutions
• Maintain performance skills
• Routinely work weekends, holidays, evenings, nights, overtime, and/or on an on-call/call-back status, when needed

Qualifications

• BLS Certification
• Demonstrated commitment and adherence to STHS’s Compliance Program and Code of Conduct through compliance with all policies and procedures, attendance at required training, and immediate reporting of suspected compliance issues to the Compliance Officer
• Graduate from an approved School of Radiologic Technology
• ARRT Certification (R)
• Licensed as a Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) in the State of Texas (Texas Medical Board)
• Current BLS certification, according to unit-specific needs, in accordance with the curriculum of the AHA for Healthcare Provider’s Program
