Job Summary
Professionally trained individual who produces high quality radiographs for all interventional studies, assists with sterile setup, and maintains sterile technique throughout procedures.
Responsibilities
- Operates interventional radiology equipment safely and efficiently while minimizing radiation exposure.
- Supports physicians during invasive procedures.
- Maintains sterile technique.
- Prepares and monitors patients throughout each exam.
- Completes QA tasks.
- Performs routine equipment cleaning.
- Follows all hospital, state, and federal safety standards.
- Is proficient in all IR procedures.
- Aids with venous access.
- Reviews patient histories.
- Identifies potential risks.
- Manages inventory.
- Maintains accurate documentation required by the medical center and regulatory agencies.
- Ensures correct procedure charging and coding.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
Graduate of an approved accredited program of Radiologic Technology.
Current CPR certification.
ARRT(R) registered or eligible (see below for individual state requirements).
State Licensure:
- Kentucky: KBMIRT Radiation Operator's License - Radiography (Temporary or Permanent)
- Indiana: Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) License – (Radiologic Technologist or Radiology Student Permit)
Qualifications
Excellent understanding of radiation protection and sterile technique.
