Job Summary

Professionally trained individual who produces high quality radiographs for all interventional studies, assists with sterile setup, and maintains sterile technique throughout procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Operates interventional radiology equipment safely and efficiently while minimizing radiation exposure.
  • Supports physicians during invasive procedures.
  • Maintains sterile technique.
  • Prepares and monitors patients throughout each exam.
  • Completes QA tasks.
  • Performs routine equipment cleaning.
  • Follows all hospital, state, and federal safety standards.
  • Is proficient in all IR procedures.
  • Aids with venous access.
  • Reviews patient histories.
  • Identifies potential risks.
  • Manages inventory.
  • Maintains accurate documentation required by the medical center and regulatory agencies.
  • Ensures correct procedure charging and coding.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

Graduate of an approved accredited program of Radiologic Technology.

Current CPR certification.

ARRT(R) registered or eligible (see below for individual state requirements).

State Licensure:

  • Kentucky: KBMIRT Radiation Operator's License - Radiography (Temporary or Permanent)
  • Indiana: Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) License – (Radiologic Technologist or Radiology Student Permit)

Qualifications

Excellent understanding of radiation protection and sterile technique.

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
