What You Will Do
- Assists licensed practitioner with fluoroscopic and specialized interventional procedures on scheduled shifts including emergency callback.
- Operates angiographic equipment.
- Provides care to neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
- Provides patient/family or caregiver education and counseling in recognition and solution of physical, emotional, and environmental health problems.
- Maintains open and positive communication with staff, physicians, and other departments.
- Instructs, supervises, and evaluates student technologists.
- Presents a positive image to community and professional contacts.
- Promotes professionalism with the department, hospital, and community; acts as a role model.
- Maintains intra-arterial access as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
- Receives, relays and documents verbal, written and electronic orders in the patient’s medical record.
Qualifications
- Successful completion of an accredited two-year Radiologic Technology program is required.
- Maintains active registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- ARRTVascular Interventional (VI) or Cardiovascular/Interventional (CV) certification preferred.
- Maintains current and valid Permit to Practice Radiology Technologist license in the state of employment.
- Previous interventional radiology experience preferred.
- Completion of the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Mandatory Reporter training for Child and Dependent Adult Abuse within three (3) months of hire.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certified within six (6) weeks of hire.
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred unless required by local site.
- Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.
- Must possess a personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity, and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the philosophy, mission, vision, goals, and values of Trinity Health.
