About the role

Grady Health System (South Fulton location) is seeking a Full-Time Radiologic Technologist to join our diagnostic imaging team and provide high-quality radiographic imaging services for neonatal, pediatric, and adult patient populations. This role is integral to the delivery of patient-centered care, maintaining imaging quality standards, and collaborating with interdisciplinary healthcare teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic radiographic imaging procedures for neonatal, pediatric, and adult patients in accordance with established departmental protocols.
• Prepare examination rooms to ensure compliance with safety, infection control, and hygiene standards prior to patient procedures.
• Evaluate radiographic images for technical quality and verify that demographic data, including medical record numbers and accession numbers, are accurate.
• Apply appropriate lead markers to designate right (R) or left (L) orientation and include technologist initials on all radiographic images.
• Maintain radiographic and digital imaging equipment by performing routine quality control checks and calibrations in accordance with manufacturer standards.
• Clean and inspect radiographic rooms and equipment after each use and promptly report equipment malfunctions or repair needs to supervisory staff.
• Absorb and assist with patient scheduling and support productive departmental workflow.
• Ensure procedure and examination rooms remain adequately stocked at the end of each shift.
• Assist with the training and development of Radiology staff and students as assigned.
• Practice radiation protection techniques using beam restriction devices, patient shielding methods, and appropriate exposure factors to minimize radiation exposure to patients and staff.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support departmental operations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of a JRCERT-accredited Radiography Program required.
• Registered or registry-eligible with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and must obtain ARRT certification within six (6) months of hire.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Skills

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, attention to detail, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and proficiency with PACS systems are essential.
