About the role

Grady Health System is seeking a PRN / Pool Radiologic Technologist to join our diagnostic imaging team and provide high-quality radiographic imaging services for neonatal, pediatric, and adult patient populations. This role is responsible for producing high-quality diagnostic images that support accurate physician interpretation while maintaining efficient workflow within the Radiology Department.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic radiographic imaging procedures for neonatal, pediatric, and adult patients in accordance with established departmental protocols.
  • Prepare examination rooms to ensure compliance with safety, infection control, and hygiene standards prior to patient procedures.
  • Evaluate radiographic images for technical quality and verify that demographic data, including medical record numbers and accession numbers, are accurate.
  • Apply appropriate lead markers to designate right (R) or left (L) orientation and include technologist initials on all radiographic images.
  • Maintain radiographic and digital imaging equipment by performing routine quality control checks and calibrations in accordance with manufacturer standards.
  • Clean and inspect radiographic rooms and equipment after each use and promptly report equipment malfunctions or repair needs to supervisory staff.
  • Support departmental workflow by assisting with patient scheduling and maintaining stocked procedure and examination rooms.
  • Aid in the training and support of Radiology staff and students as assigned.
  • Practice radiation protection techniques using beam restriction devices, patient shielding methods, and appropriate exposure factors to minimize radiation exposure to patients and staff.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support departmental operations.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Graduate of a JRCERT-accredited Radiography Program required.
  • Current registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) required.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Skills

  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency with PACS systems.
