About the Role
The Staff Radiation Therapist in the Radiation Oncology Department applies ionizing radiation to pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients in accordance with the prescription and instructions of the Radiation Oncologist. They must be capable of operating radiation-producing equipment utilizing radiation safety measures and be able to perform a series of complex and precise technical procedures.
Responsibilities
- Operate radiation-producing equipment safely and accurately.
- Deliver prescribed radiation treatments to patients of all ages.
- Adhere to radiation safety protocols and regulatory standards.
- Perform complex and precise technical procedures as directed by the Radiation Oncologist.
Requirements
- Graduate of an ARRT-approved radiologic technology program (required).
- Minimum of six months of clinical experience in Radiation Therapy (required).
- Registry-eligible or registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiation Therapy Technology (required).
- BLS/CPR certification (required; must be maintained/renewed per policy).
Qualifications
- Compliance with all ARRT continuing education mandates.
