Radiation Therapist- PRN

Under the direction of the Clinical Manager, the Radiation Therapist applies ionizing radiation to the patient in accordance with the prescription and instruction of the Radiation Oncologist.

Responsibilities

• Administers radiation therapy by exposing specific areas of the patient's body to prescribed doses of radiation.
• Maintains patient charts, noting such information as the area treated, the radiation dosage, equipment control settings, the patient's reactions, and the total amount of radiation received to date.
• Consults with radiation oncologists and other clinical staff as needed.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited Radiation Therapy program and registry eligible with ARRT.
• After ARRT certification is obtained, licensure from the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association (SCRQSA) is required.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required.
