About the Role
Applies ionizing radiation to patients in accordance with the prescription and instructions of the Radiation Oncologist. In addition to the duties of a Radiation Therapist I, this role includes:
- Serving as a Super User for technology and Preceptor for new employees, providing training and mentorship
- Performing both CT and treatment procedures with a high level of proficiency
- Involvement in HDR QA or specialized treatment protocols
- Demonstrating expertise in VisionRT, Simulation/IV Contrast, and new treatment devices or protocols
- Engaging in at least one presentation or proposal to radiation leadership/physicians annually on cost savings, patient safety, or efficiency, ensuring ideas are heard and implemented
- Leading by example to promote employee satisfaction through active involvement in process improvements
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- 3 years of experience as a radiation therapist, including expertise in CT procedures, HDR QA, or other relevant specialized treatment protocols
- ARRT certification in Radiation Oncology
- Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing
