For our radiation services community of practice, that means using innovative approaches to provide economical client solutions for complex environmental solutions. We’re seeking a Junior Radiation Health Physicist to support projects for primarily our Navy and uranium mining restoration clients, though our portfolio is broad, and many other clients and projects are included.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluating soil, groundwater, surface water, or sediments in environmental projects.
  • Executing investigations, risk assessments, feasibility studies, engineering analysis, remedial actions, and closures under EPA, NRC, Agreement States, USACE, or Tribal Agency authority.
  • Performing surveys and assessments, characterizing radiological materials in various matrices, implementing radiation safety practices, maintaining radiation protection programs, and ensuring regulatory compliance during project activities.
  • Engaging in general environmental field and project tasks, collaborating with project teams to deliver high-quality data and deliverables to clients.
  • Working remotely up to 50% of the time, with occasional periods of heavier travel.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Radiation Health Physics or Engineering.
  • Experience with environmental and remediation programs.
  • Experience with radiological investigations or BRAC closures (preferred).

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $74,700.00 to $112,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Schedule

A balance of remote and office work is expected, with a preference for candidates located in California. Time in the field may typically be approximately 50%, with the occasional span where travel may be more heavy than 50%.
