Racquet Sports Front Desk Attendant- Santa Barbara, CA

Job Summary

The Ritz Carlton Bacara, located in Santa Barbara, CA, is seeking a part-time Racquet Sports Front Desk Attendant to contribute to a positive experience for members and guests while growing their knowledge of racquet sports operations. This position is part of Troon/Cliff Drysdale and PBI Tennis, a global leader in racquet sports, golf, and community management.

About the Role

This position offers superior customer service while selling merchandise and assisting in various operational tasks. It involves performing opening and closing procedures, collecting fees, making reservations, assisting with merchandise sales, and maintaining displays.

Responsibilities

• Performs opening and closing procedures for the shop or store as determined by management.
• Collects applicable fees from members/guests and outside patrons as they arrive.
• Makes court, clinic, lesson and special event reservations, in person or by phone.
• Sells merchandise and provides information in a professional manner.
• Aids in rotating stock and keeping displays clean and orderly.
• Assists with general cleaning of the shop or store.
• Aids in creating appealing displays under the supervision of the shop supervisor.
• Aids in monthly physical inventories.
• May assist with facilitating orderly start and play times for coaches.
• Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
• Ensures regular and reliable attendance.
• Performs other duties as required/needed.

Requirements

• Frequent standing and using hands; reaching with hands and arms, talking or hearing.
• Regular walking, sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crawling, or crouching.
• Occasionally lifting up to 10 pounds and occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Works in outdoor weather conditions with moderate noise levels.

Education/Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Demands

Frequently stands and uses hands; reaches with hands and arms, talks or hears. Regularly walks, sits, climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crawls or crouches. Regularly lifts up to 10 pounds and occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds. Works in outdoor weather conditions with moderate noise levels.

Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Preferences

• Ability to read and speak English may be required to perform job duties.
• Active tennis player with knowledge of the game.
• Retail sales experience is preferred.
• Computer proficiency including POS, Microsoft Office applications, social media, and other programs related to tennis.
