About the role
The Racing Maintenance Associate is a hands-on position responsible for the general maintenance and groundskeeping of the racing facility, including horse barns, the racetrack, and an RV park. This role requires comfort with a variety of tasks such as mowing, weed eating, equipment maintenance, and stall repairs. The associate must work outdoors in varying weather conditions, handle objects up to 50 lbs., and stand or walk for extended periods.
This position is considered safety-sensitive and is subject to pre-employment and random drug testing. A positive drug test result, including for marijuana, may result in a job offer being rescinded or termination of employment, even with a valid medical marijuana license.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on horse barns, the racetrack, and all grounds, including the RV park.
- Execute groundskeeping tasks such as mowing, weed eating, and waste removal.
- Conduct equipment maintenance and perform repairs on stalls.
- Adhere to all safety procedures and properly use personal protective equipment at all times.
- Handle objects up to 50 lbs. and stand or walk for extended periods.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required; minimum of three years of related work experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Knowledge of working with horses is required.
- Experience operating heavy equipment and working knowledge of light construction.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license and licensing by the appropriate gaming/racing authority.
- Ability to work in an outdoor environment with exposure to heat and cold.
- Knowledge of basic construction and repair techniques.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds.
