About the role

The Maintenance Manager at Capital Vacations is responsible for planning, prioritizing, training, supervising, and reviewing the work of staff responsible for performing maintenance services, including custodial duties, waterpark maintenance, and various types of repairs and upkeep.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, prioritizes, and supervises maintenance staff
  • Follows Capital Vacations’ Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) regarding licensing and service agreements
  • Coordinates work with outside vendors to minimize disruption to guests
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for inspection agencies including Fire Safety, Water Safety, and Employee Safety
  • Maintains an organized work area and completes monthly inventories with Resort Managers' approval
  • Supervises and performs maintenance and repair work on swimming pool facilities and related mechanical equipment
  • Supervises maintenance of chemical balances and related testing and injection systems
  • Orders supplies promptly to complete projects
  • Performs a variety of skilled work in the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of resort buildings and units, including carpentry, plumbing, filter maintenance, and light fixture maintenance
  • Performs general repairs as needed, such as painting, patching walls, security hardware, and landscaping
  • Maintains swimming pool during the summer season
  • Coordinates or installs, inspects, repairs, and maintains the electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and other related systems
  • Coordinates or inspects, operates, and maintains the heating, cooling, and ventilation systems
  • Coordinates and inspects major contract work on the electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and other related systems

Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance
  • Good driving record with no significant violations
  • Associates or bachelor’s degree in facilities/property management
  • One to two years of experience in building and facilities maintenance
  • Certified Pool Operator (CPO) or Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) certification
  • HVAC certification
  • OSHA certification
  • Hazardous material handling training within six months of hire date
  • One year experience in the care, maintenance, and repair of large, commercial, or public swimming pools and associated equipment and facilities
  • Ability to perform maintenance duties such as plumbing, electrical, construction, appliance repairs, painting, and pool maintenance
  • Ability to multi-task and handle all maintenance issues

Qualifications

  • Associates or bachelor’s degree in facilities/property management
  • Experience in a manager-level resort maintenance role
  • One to two years of experience in building and facilities maintenance
  • Certified Pool Operator (CPO) or Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) certification
  • HVAC certification
  • OSHA certification
  • Hazardous material handling training within six months of hire date
  • One year experience in the care, maintenance, and repair of large, commercial, or public swimming pools and associated equipment and facilities
  • Ability to perform maintenance duties such as plumbing, electrical, construction, appliance repairs, painting, and pool maintenance
  • Ability to multi-task and handle all maintenance issues
