About the role
The Maintenance Manager will set the direction and oversee all activities related to plant maintenance, balancing general management capabilities with direct operational involvement. Key responsibilities include identifying efficiency opportunities, making critical decisions, monitoring regulations, and supporting the Plant Manager in various aspects.
Responsibilities
- Identify and report efficiency opportunities (losses, reliability, cost, and spare parts inventory) and implement solutions to optimize equipment and maintenance costs while minimizing downtime.
- Make (or actively support) critical decisions impacting local site operations (team performance, maintenance and capital planning, production outage planning, costing/budgeting).
- Maintain compliance with relevant regulations (ethical practices, employee and process safety, contractor safety, environment).
- Develop and implement key people initiatives (training, talent development, skills planning, organization design, hiring/on-boarding, succession management).
- Review key measures regularly to ensure production and quality expectations are met.
Requirements
- College degree preferred but not required.
- 6-10 years of experience in Plant Operations and Maintenance Management, Budgeting/Cost Management, and Safety and Environmental Leadership.
- Strong analytical skills (process, equipment, and technical data, incident/process investigation).
- Experience in vendor/contractor negotiations is an asset.
- Occasional travel as required.
- Safety-oriented.
- Ability to work outdoors, stand for shifts, lift, and climb stairs.
- Pass pre-hire physical and drug screen.

$115k - $125k
