About the role
The Maintenance Operations Supervisor provides strategic oversight, coordination, and management of maintenance operations across agency-owned and leased properties to ensure safe, compliant, and well-maintained environments for clients, visitors, and team members. This position leads the maintenance team, coordinates vendors and contractors, manages preventative maintenance initiatives, and ensures compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and agency standards.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day maintenance operations and facilities management across multiple sites.
- Oversee and prioritize work orders, repairs, and preventive maintenance programs (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, boilers).
- Ensure compliance with building codes, OSHA regulations, and safety standards.
- Supervise and support maintenance technicians, including scheduling, training, and performance management.
- Coordinate with vendors, contractors, inspectors, and property stakeholders to complete repairs and projects.
- Conduct facility inspections, identify maintenance needs, and recommend capital improvements and cost-saving initiatives.
- Manage inventory, equipment, and fleet maintenance records.
- Respond to and oversee emergency maintenance and on-call operations.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in facilities management, property maintenance, or building operations (supervisory experience required).
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical systems, and general building maintenance.
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience using maintenance management systems (CMMS) and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to walk properties, including climbing stairs, bending, leaning, squatting, kneeling, pushing, pulling, reaching, and carrying supplies.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs. without assistance.
- Must be available for a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call hours.
- 90% travel to other work sites and properties; 10% office work.
- Adherence to agency policies, including HIPAA Policies & Procedures/Compliance Plan.
- Ability to commute to Baldwin, NY 11510 (preferred).
- Willingness to travel 100% (preferred).

Pay
