About the Role

The Quantitative Analytics Manager leads the development and validation of predictive and machine-learning models for specific business needs using statistics, advanced mathematical techniques, and/or computer science. This role leverages advanced mathematical knowledge, analysis, partnerships, and business acumen to provide solutions to predictive and prescriptive questions such as “What will happen next?” and “What will we do?” Projects are often broad in scope across multiple business segments and involve guiding a team or project through complex problem-solving using statistics, best practices, emerging techniques, and quantitative tools.

Responsibilities

  • Create and leverage models, inferential statistics, and prescriptive analysis to proactively solve business problems, answering “What will happen and what should we do about it?”
  • Address large, complex problems with broad implications and recommend solutions based on context, connections, and conclusions.
  • Review deliverables and proactively coach others on approach and work product.
  • Lead and evangelize best practices for capturing and retaining data.
  • Coordinate with data stewards to anticipate process and procedural needs.
  • Make continuous improvements to data procedures, including enhancing data efficiency.
  • Recommend the best analysis method for each situation.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree (or equivalent) in statistics, mathematics, economics, financial engineering, data sciences, predictive modeling, or other quantitative disciplines and at least 5 years of relevant experience; or Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in the same fields and at least 6 years of relevant experience.

Skills

Data Literacy

  • Understanding of best practices for capturing and retaining data.
  • Knowledge of pros and cons of competing analysis methods.
  • Experience leading by partnering with others to anticipate and understand process/procedural needs.
  • Ability to set standards and expectations for data analysis tools and techniques, ensuring compliance.
  • Advocating for clearer data requirements to increase efficiency in data analysis.

Technology & Techniques

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, SQL/NoSQL, and relationship data structures.
  • Experience selecting and retrieving data, including unstructured data retrieval, archival, and ETL.
  • Advanced skills in Python, R, or SAS, including database management, efficient coding, and strong code controls.
  • Ability to translate code into high-level commentary.
  • Understanding and ability to leverage cloud-based computing and distributed computing.

Model Building & Maintenance

  • Establish standards and best practices for modeling and forecast future modeling tools/techniques.
  • Identify, employ, and evangelize emerging techniques from industry/research.
  • Coach others on data modeling methods and techniques.
  • Facilitate sessions for complex data models.
  • Assess and understand risks, including developing contingency plans.
  • Communicate observations to senior executives and translate technical observations for non-technical audiences.

  • Communication: Excellent writing and presentation skills; develops these skills in others. Adapts messaging for the right audience and channel. Comfortable presenting to senior levels with confidence.

Pay

This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $116,000.00 - $216,000.00 annually. Placement within the pay range may differ based on skills, experience, and geographic location. Compensation also includes eligibility for incentive compensation, such as production, commission, and/or discretionary incentives.
