This role supports production by using approved reference standards, controlled lighting, Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs), CT scanners, and other precision inspection tools to verify that molded elements meet established specifications and tolerances.

Responsibilities

  • Perform visual, functional, dimensional, color, surface-finish, and product-safety inspections of injection-molded toy elements against approved specifications and reference standards.
  • Identify and evaluate color, appearance, and surface-finish characteristics against approved standards and specifications using designated inspection methods, controlled lighting, and approved inspection equipment, including the identification of shade variation, discoloration, contamination, streaking, burn marks, black specks, surface-finish variation, and other molding defects.
  • Operate precision inspection equipment, including CMMs, CT scanners, height gauges, calipers, color-measurement equipment, and other approved measurement tools.

  • Record inspection results and quality data in SAP, spreadsheets, inspection logs, or other designated quality systems.
  • Stop or contain production when critical quality or product-safety concerns are identified and immediately notify the appropriate teams.
  • Support product containment, root cause analysis, and corrective and preventive actions to resolve quality issues.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Production, Engineering, Maintenance, and other cross-functional partners during issue investigation and resolution.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency for data entry, documentation, and reporting.
  • Ability to work assigned shifts and meet the physical and operational requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • One or more years of experience in a manufacturing or quality role, preferably in plastics or injection molding.
  • Experience inspecting injection-molded components or toy elements.
  • Hands-on experience with CMMs, CT scanners, color-measurement equipment, or other precision inspection tools.
  • Working knowledge of SAP, Microsoft Excel, or other quality documentation systems.
  • Understanding of GD&T, product specifications, tolerances, non-conformance processes, and quality documentation.
  • Familiarity with root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Tech certification or associate degree in Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience performing color, surface-finish, visual, dimensional, or functional inspections.
