Quality Technician Dayshift

About the role

Cornwall Building Brands is seeking a Quality Assurance (QA) Technician to join our team in Ellenboro, Ritchie County. The position is full-time and offers competitive benefits.

Responsibilities

• Ensures standards set by the Plant Manager are maintained throughout the production process.
• Inspects and detects non-conformance, notifying managers and supervisors of findings.
• Prevents defects from reaching consumers by participating in continuous improvement of the production process.
• Performs process and finished good audits, verifying product compliance with engineering specifications.
• Verifies the operation of products and documents nonconforming raw materials for disposition.
• Reviews rejects and defect trends with production supervisors and leadership, calculating quality scores, and updating audit reports.
• Participates in Kaizen events and identifies root causes of defect trends, recommending containment and corrective actions.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a related field or equivalent experience preferred.
• ISO, Six Sigma, or other Quality/Lean certification preferred.
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in quality control/production.
• Continuous improvement experience preferred.

Skills & Knowledge

• Excellent organizational and attention to detail skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and effective communication abilities.
• Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and fraction/decimal conversion.
• Problem-solving tools and initiative to identify and resolve issues.
• Proficiency in computer use and Microsoft Office.

Physical & Environmental Demands

• Ability to bend, twist, reach, grasp, stand, walk, and perform fine manipulation.
• Exposure to excessive noise, dust, fumes, or chemicals on the shop floor.
• Intermittent exposure to inclement weather.
