About the role

The position of Quality Technician will be reporting to the local Quality manager.

Responsibilities

The key responsibilities and duties include:

  • Auditing and Inspection: Conduct hourly quality checks on all operating lines, complete the Last Piece Quality Assurance (QA) check, evaluate and audit hourly bag samples and inspection sheets, audit and verify label placement, and inspect raw materials upon receipt.
  • Quality Control and Compliance: Verify product compliance across multiple quality metrics, including material, printing, dimensions, and function, and identify non-conforming products.
  • Continuous Improvement and Documentation: Lead and complete one Quality Improvement Project per quarter, track and record production data, assist in identifying the root cause of quality failures, and secure and formalize the material sorting process.

Requirements

Preferred requirements include:

  • Computer literacy, with proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
  • High school graduate or equivalent with related college degree and/or technical courses or associate (two-year) college degree.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a related field, with knowledge of LEAN manufacturing, ISO, Six Sigma, OSHA, or Safety related field.

Skills

Required skills include:

  • Mathematical skills: able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy, calculate figures and amounts, and apply concepts of high school math.
  • Reasoning ability: able to solve practical problems, deal with a variety of concrete variables, and interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Physical Demands

The employee is regularly required to walk and talk and hear, frequently required to stand, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms, and occasionally required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Vision requirements include: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
