Quality Technician -1st Shift

About the role

Sanmina is looking for a detail-oriented and dedicated Quality Technician for our first shift in Newark, CA. In this role, you will determine product acceptance both in-process and at final assembly by inspecting parts per customer drawings and workmanship standards. You will use monitoring and measurement devices, perform visual inspections, and document inspection and testing results in both paper and electronic systems. You may also assist in developing methods and procedures for quality inspection and control.

This is an ITAR facility and applicant must be a US Citizen or a lawful permanent resident.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections to determine the quality of metal components and electromechanical assemblies, visually and dimensionally, based on internal and customer-supplied workmanship standards and drawing specifications.
• Perform dimensional inspection using tools such as CMM, calipers, micrometers, pin gauges, and thread gauges.
• Areas of inspection include clean room, final assembly inspection, machining, sheet metal fabrication, paint, and weld.
• Perform receiving inspection on incoming purchased components and raw materials.
• Determine and assist in developing methods and procedures for quality inspection and control.
• Apply final labels or markings to demonstrate product acceptance.
• Document and communicate non-conformances identified during inspection activities.
• Perform calibration audits and support internal calibration activities.
• Complete daily reports of inspection activities.
• Visual acuity and manual dexterity required; ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or college courses.
• Minimum of 5 years of quality assurance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with paint and weld inspection required.
• Experience as a CMM operator is a plus.
• Knowledge of GD&T drawings consistent with the latest revisions of the ASME standards.
• Experience reading and interpreting Bill of Materials (BOM), workmanship standards, and customer engineering specifications.
• Experience with inspection equipment and measurement tools such as CMM, calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and pin gauges.
• Competent in word processing, spreadsheets, and data analysis.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Flexible regarding overtime availability and able to work with minimal supervision.
