Principle Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform quality inspections for fixtures, check-aids, and parts.
- Perform plate layouts.
- Conduct first-piece approvals.
- Calibrate equipment as required.
- Operate gauges and testing equipment with dexterity and precision.
- Afford assistance in the training and development of associates in the department.
- Track and manage any QOS measures assigned [Annual calibrations, Gauge R’s, PDCA list].
- Understand housekeeping requirements and maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Be safety conscious and understand all potential safety hazards in work environment.
- Promote team concepts and participate in teams.
- Complete necessary paperwork. [Quality job binders, control plans, PFMEA’s, MSA studies]
- Understand the needs of internal/external customers. [Standards & requirements, CSR’s]
- Understand and follow Peregrine policies and practices and any other legal requirements.
- Present a professional appearance and demeanor.
- Interact appropriately with customers.
- Participate as an active member in achieving and maintaining quality goals and continuous improvement activities.
- Sits in the 7:30 production meeting when needed.
- Interacts with the program coordinator for scheduling products through the department.
- Gives line-ups to the associates in QC on a daily basis with Quality Manager input.
- Involves in external customer buy-off on parts.
- Involves in all launches on new jobs for timing and defining requirements.
- Enforce quality at FNG.
- Any other duties as assigned by the Quality Systems Manager.
Required Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
- Extensive working knowledge of Automotive Prototype Sheet Metal Stampings, GD&T, and blue print reading.
- Must possess intermediate math skills.
- Must be able to operate the following pieces of machinery: Tarus CMM, Gauge Track and CMS.
- Ability to analyze situations and provide possible solutions.
- Possess basic computer skills and work with required software.
- Be able to effectively communicate with others- either verbally or written.
- Ability to apply technical experience and knowledge to unsupervised ongoing projects.
Education & Experience
- Minimum of 5 years work/school experience.
- Minimum high school diploma, all additional education from college to training seminars in this related field is a plus.
