About the role

The night shift Quality Supervisor position is available at FieldTurf, a world leader in artificial turf with over 25,000 installations worldwide. This role is based out of the Calhoun, GA Office and reports to the Quality Manager. FieldTurf is part of Tarkett Sports, a company that pioneers innovations reshaping entire industries.

Responsibilities

  • Provide systems training and ensure line inspectors have a thorough understanding of quality standards.
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to Team Leads, reinforcing quality standards, strengthening decision-making, and driving accountability for performance and defect prevention.
  • Assign inspectors and maintain inspection schedules to support production requirements.
  • Assign and prioritize all B-Shift lab duties based on testing needs, and track Lab production performance.
  • Support daily and monthly Quality reporting and maintain accurate quality data tracking.
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of data within the QC Database.
  • Maintain and update the Quality Defect Library and conduct routine training on defect identification and quality hold criteria.
  • Capture Pre-Shipment Testing activities as required.
  • Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to EHS Manager and/or Human Resources.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and systems (Access, SQL, Excel, Syspro, etc.).
  • Assist in the accomplishment of Company goals. Helps other employees to accomplish Company goals.
  • Monitor & Coach team leads or others interested in Career Growth.
  • Support field visits to better understand quality-related issues and communicate findings to plant personnel.
  • Provide input on claims resolution and participate in claims meetings as needed.
  • Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects and achieve cost savings.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety policies and proper material handling procedures.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a sense of urgency in responding to internal and external customers.
  • Support production operations as needed, including coordination of remakes and repairs.
  • Drive continuous development of skills, processes, and team performance.
  • Manage personnel issues and set clear expectations for performance and accountability.

Requirements

  • A 4-year degree required. A BS degree preferred.
  • Strong MS office skills, especially in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Adapts to new technology and maximizes available tools.
  • Understands internal and external customers, balances needs and builds strong relationships.
  • Involves working adjusted shifts at times to provide coverage/training when required.
  • Communicates clearly and accurately, negotiates to reach agreements, written correspondence is professional and efficient.
  • Lead by example not from a desk.
  • Takes responsibility, accountable for results, demonstrates integrity and honesty, has vision, sets goals and works to achieve the goals, delegates appropriately.
  • Obtains support and involvement of others to address challenges, gives/receives feedback, builds good relationships with other departments.
  • Demonstrates ability to champion change, analyzes work processes and identifies areas for improvement, challenges the status quo, maintains performance standards of processes, supports calculated risk taking.
  • Willingness to travel 10%.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a similar role preferred.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001/IMS Work Instructions and Procedures.
  • Ability to maintain ISO audit readiness across all responsible departments.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a sense of urgency.
