Quality Supervisor

Description

The Quality Supervisor at Smurfit Westrock's Evadale, TX mill is responsible for overseeing the Quality Assurance department and supporting the mill's quality systems. Key responsibilities include:

• Supervise Hourly Quality Lab Employees
• Support Product Recall Situations
• Provide Technical Support for Paper Testing Lab Activities
• Assist in Implementing New Test Methods
• Support Implementation of ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 22001:2015 Systems
• Participate in QA Call Duty Rotation
• Manage Customer and Internal Sample Programs
• Oversee the Outturn Room on the Paper Machine
• Provide Backup Support as Needed

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or 3+ years of Quality and/or manufacturing experience in Pulp/Paper
• Preferred: BS degree in Pulp & Paper Science related scientific field
• Strong Diagnostic Problem-Solving Skills
• Proficiency with Excel, SAP, Testream, Optivision, Microsoft Teams, Workforce Solutions
• Good Verbal and Written Communication Skills
• Strong Work Ethic and Desire to Improve Systems and Processes

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent Experience
• Experience in Quality and/or Manufacturing in Pulp/Paper Industry
• Problem Solving Skills
• Technical Proficiency (Excel, SAP, etc.)
• Communication Skills
