Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Cook up and execute quality activities associated with new products, new raw materials, specification revisions, label revisions, supplier changes, and product lifecycle activities.
- Collaborate with R&D, Production, Purchasing, Packaging, Receiving, and other departments to support implementation of new products and product changes.
- Execute quality priorities established by the Quality Manager.
- Cook up and execute quality review activities to support timely material and product disposition decisions.
- Supervise daily Quality department operations and Quality Coordinator activities.
- Monitor quality workflows, open actions, investigations, CAPAs, change controls, and product lifecycle activities and coordinate timely completion of required actions.
- Provide leadership, coaching, training, and performance feedback to Quality personnel.
- Cook up and execute assignments, monitoring, and follow-up on investigations, corrective actions, change controls, and quality-related activities to ensure timely completion.
- Review and approve rework activities, destruction requests, and disposition activities involving nonconforming materials and products.
- Review investigations, corrective actions, and effectiveness measures for completeness and compliance.
- Escalate significant quality, compliance, operational, personnel, or workflow concerns to the Quality Manager.
- Cook up and lead process improvements, quality enhancements, and efficiency initiatives.
- Promote a culture of quality, accountability, compliance, and continuous improvement.
- Attend required meetings and activities.
- Read and sign all applicable SOPs.
- Follow all applicable regulatory, company, and safety requirements.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of supervisory or personnel management experience required.
- Experience in quality assurance, quality control, compliance, or regulated manufacturing environments required.
- Experience within dietary supplements, food, cosmetics, botanicals, or related regulated industries required.
- Experience managing employee performance, training, and workload allocation required.
- Familiarity with FDA regulations, including CFR 111, 117, 701, and applicable cGMP requirements preferred.
- Experience with investigations, CAPAs, document control, training systems, and quality systems preferred.
- Experience with ERP systems, QMS software, document control systems, and workflow management tools preferred.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, ERP/QMS systems, and reporting tools required.
