Quality Supervisor

Job Purpose

The Quality Supervisor will directly supervise 3-6 QA Technicians and 1-3 sanitation employees. They will collaborate with site leadership and a cross-functional operations team for the implementation and continuous improvement of quality programs in the Affton facility.

Requirements

• Develop and maintain procedures ensuring Food Safety and Quality
• Identify and resolve problems
• Assist with the implementation of various components of quality assurance program
• Coordinate inspection of hardware and systems auditing
• Direct and advise laboratory personnel in special test procedures
• Compile and analyze test information to determine operating efficiency of process or equipment and diagnose malfunctions
• Assist in the investigation of customer complaints on existing products and respond to vendors or customers
• Establish or adjust work procedures to meet testing schedules
• Review and assist in revising all SOP’s, SSOP’s and forms in the document management system
• Train lab group on safety topics, quality procedures and business updates for the month
• Participate in and/or support corporate and plant initiatives including GMP, HACCP, SQF, GQMS, KMM, LIMS and others as assigned
• Participation and/or facilitation as identified in customer, regulatory and 3rd party audits

Qualifications

• Qualified background in food science, chemistry, biology, microbiology, sensory, food packaging systems and/or food engineering
• 3-7 years practical experience in Food Safety or Management of Quality or Production, or Project Management in the food industry
• Ability to drive continuous improvement
• Ability to change through indirect leadership
• Excellent written and verbal skills
• Organized
• Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Strong critical thinking ability along with analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong interpersonal, communication, coaching, and conflict management skills
• Ability to manipulate a computer keyboard and telephone handset
• Ability to read and assimilate information
• Ability to deal with multiple personalities and changing priorities
