Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and develop Quality Technicians, including training, performance management, and accountability
- Lead continuous improvement efforts within the Quality Management System (QMS)
- Drive quality performance improvement, PPM reduction, and corrective action effectiveness
- Develop and implement quality tools and methodologies, including Control Plans, SPC, FMEA, 8D, capability studies, DOE, and Six Sigma
- Interface directly with customers to address quality issues and drive resolution
- Ensure compliance with EQMS policies, ISO 9001, regulatory standards, and customer requirements
- Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions, including verification activities
- Establish and monitor plant quality metrics and support division quality objectives
- Collect, analyze, and report monthly quality data for balanced scorecards
- Host customer and third-party audits (e.g., ISO, UL, CSA, customer-specific assessments)
- Lead or participate in cross-functional teams for problem-solving and process improvement initiatives
- Cook up quality department activities in the manager’s absence
- Collaborate with other functional teams to ensure effective quality system execution
Qualifications
- Required (Basic): Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
- Minimum of 2 years of quality, operations and/or engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution
- Prior supervisory experience
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer, ASQ Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence and/or Six Sigma Black/Green Belt certification
- Trained internal auditor (ISO9000 or ASQ Certified Quality Auditor) and experience performing quality audits
- Experience either managing or supporting ISO 9001 and Eaton Quality Management systems (EQMS)
Key Skills & Capabilities
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and GD&T
- Strong knowledge of metrology, including use of inspection equipment (calipers, micrometers, scales, CMM; programming preferred)
- Proficiency in quality tools and methodologies such as SPC, capability studies, PFMEA, GR&R, root cause analysis, and corrective action processes
- Familiarity with Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma principles
- Understanding of ISO/TS standards, EQMS criteria, and quality system requirements
- Knowledge of assembly processes and material flow within a manufacturing environment
- Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate at all organizational levels
- Effective problem-solving, teamwork, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
