Quality Supervisor

Responsibilities

• Direct the activities of the Quality Control Laboratory, including training and supervising all lab personnel and relieving all laboratory job functions.
• Work with customers to resolve any issues or complaints regarding cement quality or delivery of the final product.
• Generate mill tests, letters of certification, and bond quarry acreage.
• Generate plant daily material reports and maintain quality records.
• Maintain safety by investigating and reporting on accidents involving employees and equipment, promoting and enforcing safe working practices, and maintaining laboratory equipment in working order.
• Oversee proper mix changes, schedule departments, and ensure adherence to Internal Quality Objectives.
• Maintain current knowledge of collective bargaining agreements and related plant policies.
• Promote and instill an attitude of cost and profit consciousness among all employees.
• Perform analysis, testing, and prepare special reports as assigned by the Quality Manager.
• Compile the annual budget for the Laboratory.
• Work with State DOT for cement approval and Federal Agencies to certify lab procedures and equipment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or related Technical Discipline
• 3-5 years of experience in an industrial environment preferred
• Strong technical background with excellent interpersonal skills
