Quality Supervisor

This position is instrumental to the daily success of the facility. The off-shift Quality Supervisor leads quality food safety initiatives and supports Sanitation supervision on 3rd shift. Responsibilities include evaluating daily production, updating programs and documents to improve processes, and verifying compliance with Food Safety, Quality, and Food Defense Programs such as Kraft Heinz policies, KHMS, HACCP, FDA regulations, FSSC, religious laws, and state laws. The role requires a strong understanding of production floor processes and regulatory equipment, along with the ability to coach and communicate effectively at all organizational levels.

Responsibilities

  • Lead off-shift quality supervision to maintain high Food Safety compliance levels.
  • Support planning, defining, and directing the site auditing control program to ensure compliance with procedures, policies, GMP standards, Kraft Heinz requirements, and regulatory laws.
  • Perform assignments in accordance with 5S, Six Sigma, and Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
  • Support the KHMS system and operational standards as outlined in the plant accountability list.
  • Train, mentor, and lead off-shift Quality, Maintenance, Materials, and Production team members to meet quality program goals.
  • Monitor and maintain the plant KHMS program to comply with Kraft Heinz and International Audit (FSSC/ISO) standards.
  • Facilitate and co-lead site cross-functional quality teams and participate with Kraft Heinz corporate for successful certifications.
  • Ensure all Specification/KPI/KHMS/FSSC/ISO/Golden Rules plans are maintained and executed.
  • Support all internal and external inspections/regulatory visits, lead off-shift audit preparation, accompany inspectors, and complete necessary reports.
  • Lead follow-ups to non-conformances and provide appropriate responses for all off-shift risks; review and approve minor change requests.
  • Monitor weekly sanitation records for compliance and follow up to ensure adherence to programs and established limits.
  • Complete Sanitation Positive Release Standard.
  • Lead plant sanitation improvement projects, automation, and expansion projects.
  • Direct and report on overall plant sanitation programs, including PSS, RSS, PIC/PEC, expansion, and extended runs.
  • Direct sanitation environmental control programs, including clean equipment swabs, environmental monitoring, and pathogen testing.
  • Coordinate and conduct full sanitation audits, including equipment tear-downs to ensure effectiveness of cleaning procedures.
  • Support compliance for Hold/Release documentation and dispositioning of products.
  • Complete and lead validation studies for all CCPs, OPRPs, and other significant controls.
  • Maintain Quality Suite to track and trend quality checks data and create new projects as needed.
  • Perform Net content calculation analysis for new SKUs to meet NIST requirements or retargeting for current SKUs.
  • Ensure compliance with Golden Rules and other Quality principles through routine auditing, reporting, and trending.
  • Provide expertise on off-shift and supporting shifts during equipment commissioning and startup, ensuring standardization of quality and food safety procedures.
  • Adhere to approved Control of Change procedures, including reviewing partial HACCP plans and issuing Agile change requests as needed.
  • Serve as the point of contact for all meetings impacting third shift.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in quality, production, or sanitation departments within the food industry, with at least 3 years in a leadership position in a food manufacturing facility.
  • Strong understanding of HACCP principles, food safety regulations, quality system management, sanitation run rules, production processes, and the KHMS framework.
  • Strong leadership, technical, communication, delegation, and organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SAP, Agile, and matrix databases.

Physical Requirements

The physical demands described are representative of the minimum expectations for successfully performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties, the employee will sit, talk, walk, and hear. The employee must regularly stand, reach with hands and arms, and stoop or kneel. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to ten pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to twenty pounds, and occasionally lift less than fifty pounds.

Pay

New Hire Base Salary Range: $77,800.00 - $97,300.00. This position is eligible for a performance-based bonus as provided by the plan terms and governing documents. The compensation offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
