Quality Supervisor
Role Description
The Quality Supervisor position is to serve as the internal plant lead on daily quality operations. The role acts as the key backup to the Quality Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Main Quality presence in the manufacturing area
- Highly engaged with daily quality issue resolution
- Aid Supervisor during daily product changeovers and equipment adjustments
- Facilitate action items from the morning production meeting
- Complete equipment overhaul set-up and follow-up checks
- Support Production Supervisor with on-shift production issues and reports
- Review and verify critical alarms and percent checks
- Monitor and report OOS (Out Of Specification)/OOC (Out of Control) alarms
- Manage metal trial organization, data collection, and data entry
- Maintain the Metrology System according to plant and corporate procedures
- Perform weekly gauge verifications and coordinate servicing
- Troubleshoot and repair gauge issues
- Manage complaints through the NOC and HFI systems
- Collect and submit customer samples and data as required
- Make visits as needed and conduct surveys
- Monitor and address issues in the Defective Material Report system
- Prepare and manage internal audits on ISO procedures and Safe Quality Food policies
- Support Customer audits, including warehouse inspections
- Lead Supplier Quality initiatives, including non-conforming products and complaints
- Perform Good Manufacturing Audits (GMP)
Reviews Data
- Verify critical alarms and percent checks
- Monitor and report OOS/OOC alarms
- Manage NOC and HFI events
- Follow up on corrective actions
Gauge Responsibility
- Maintain the Metrology System
- Perform weekly gauge verifications
- Coordinate gauge servicing
- Troubleshoot and repair gauge issues
Customer
- Collect/submit customer samples and data
- Make visits as needed
- Conduct surveys as needed
- Monitor and address issues in the Defective Material Report system
Audit Preparation & Management
- Perform internal audits on ISO procedures and Safe Quality Food policies
- Prepare for customer audits, including warehouse inspections
- Prepare for Safe Quality Food audits
Primary Supplier Quality Lead
- Manage non-conforming Supplier Products and Supplier NOC
- Resolve Supplier complaints: entry and tracking
- Inspect incoming shipments
- Manage material trials, collect and approve data
General
- Backup for the Quality Manager when absent
- Perform projects assigned by Quality Manager
- Flexible to work off-shift/weekends
- Participate in Continuous Improvement teams
- Train workforce on procedures, gauges, and defect recognition
- Manage equipment issues in parallel with the production supervisor
- Lead Good Manufacturing Audits (GMP)
Requirements
- Preferred: Manufacturing experience, familiarity with beverage industry packaging operations, Lean, Six Sigma knowledge, GMP, ISO, and SQF Audit experience, understanding of Safe Quality Food and ISO 9000 standards, undergraduate degree, intermediate MS Excel skills
- Required: Associates degree or technical equivalent, minimum 1 year experience in high-speed manufacturing, demonstrated ability to manage people and work in a lean environment, excellent communication skills, ability to understand and apply basic statistics and specifications, ability to read, understand, and train procedures, limited travel (up to 15%)
Pay
The anticipated base annual salary range for this role is between $85,400 and $128,200 per year. This role is bonus eligible. The bonus incentive program is based on company meeting or exceeding targets.
Schedule
The schedule for this role is flexible, accommodating off-shift and weekend work as needed.
