Quality Sr. Supervisor

As the Quality Senior Supervisor – Receiving Inspection, you will lead a team responsible for ensuring incoming materials meet quality requirements before they enter production.
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of Quality Technicians while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the Receiving Inspection function.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve consistent inspection protocols and inspection methods to ensure consistent evaluation of incoming materials across all product lines.
- Establish inspection priorities and allocate departmental resources to ensure incoming materials are inspected and released in support of production schedules while maintaining quality standards.
- Ensure Quality Technicians are accurately trained and proficient in inspection methods, precision measurement instruments, and evaluation technologies, while maintaining standardized work and certification requirements.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve receiving inspection efficiency, accuracy, and throughput through process improvements, technology, automation, and Lean methodologies.
- Lead investigations of supplier and incoming material quality issues, including containment activities, identification of underlying causes, corrective actions, and preventive actions.
- Monitor Nonconformance Report (NCR) activity to ensure timely disposition, cross-functional follow-up, and closure while identifying trends that drive systemic corrective actions.
- Monitor receiving inspection performance metrics, identify trends, and lead initiatives that improve inspection effectiveness, supplier quality, material flow, and customer satisfaction.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Operations, or a related technical field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Progressive quality experience in a manufacturing environment with demonstrated experience leading receiving inspection, supplier quality, or quality operations.
- Proven experience leading, coaching, developing, and training Quality Technicians or similar inspection teams.
- Solid understanding of receiving inspection methodologies, GD&T, blueprint reading, metrology equipment, and inspection technologies.
- Experience developing standardized inspection plans, inspection instructions, and standardized work.
- Strong knowledge of quality tools including Root Cause Analysis, Control Plans, FMEA, SPC, PPAP, Lean, Six Sigma, and ISO 9001 standards for quality assurance.
- Preferred ASQ Certification (CQE, CMQ/OE, CQA, or similar).
- Experience with CMMs, vision systems, or other advanced inspection technologies.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems and electronic quality management systems.
- APQP, supplier development, or New Product Introduction experience.
- High-volume manufacturing experience.

Pay
Pay Transparency: nVent’s pay scale is based on the expected range of base pay for this job and the employee’s work location. Employee pay within this range will be based on a combination of factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, education, and performance. Where federal, state, or local minimum wage requirements exist, employee pay will comply. Compensation Range $76,000.00 - $141,100.00 Depending on the position offered, employee may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as annual incentives.
