Quality Programs Coordinator - Expanded Learning Programs (North County)

Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily site visits to assigned program sites to perform coaching, modeling of best practices and processes, and to conduct formal quality improvement activities.
  • Ensure all assigned expanded learning program sites have at least 85%-100% average daily attendance (ADA) including collaborating with school personnel to recruit students, managing student attendance and waiting lists effectively, and by incorporating student feedback into program design.
  • Communicate with families, school personnel, and program partners frequently to ensure assigned sites develop and maintain positive relationships with families, school, and district partners.
  • Aid sites in developing and implementing daily program activities that are academically aligned, age-appropriate, and offer students the opportunity to problem solve, collaborate, and showcase skill building and mastery.
  • Ensure sites have standardized safety procedures in place to ensure participants are safe and accounted for at all times throughout program.
  • Implement positive behavior guidance procedures and consistent accident and incident reporting at all expanded learning programs.
  • Serve as site-based substitute of the expanded learning program in the absence of a Site Supervisor.
  • Travel Requirements: Regular travel throughout San Diego County.

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age or older and possess a high school diploma/GED.
  • Three years experience in child and youth development, education, or comparable setting required.
  • Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical incidents and the physical ability to act in an emergency situation.
  • Physical ability to lead activities such as sports, games, academic assistance, assemblies, transitions, and other program activities.
  • Completion of Child Abuse Prevention training prior to working with program participants.
  • Licensing, state law and our funders require that applicants be fingerprinted, prior to reporting to work, and include subsequent arrest notifications.
  • Negative TB assessment or test results obtained within the past 60 days, prior to working on a school site, and every four (4) years thereafter.
  • CPR/AED, and First Aid Certification, must include Adult and Child/Infant, obtained within 30 days of hire, and must be from one of the following certifying organizations: American Red Cross, American Heart Association, American Safety and Health Institute.
  • Completion of one of the following: 48 college credits at an institution of higher education AA/AS degree, OR Passing score on districts Classroom Assistant/Instructional Aide proficiency exam.
  • YMCA will consider qualified applicants with a criminal history pursuant to the San Diego County Fair Chance Ordinance and the California Fair Chance Act.
