About the role

The Quality Manager 1 will provide direction to employees utilizing management guidelines and general policies, drive employee efficiency, meet product cost and schedule targets, manage the area to produce quality products, and engage employees to achieve their highest potential.

Responsibilities

  • Managing approximately 15 – 20 represented (union) employees.
  • Responsible for driving the team to achieve monthly delivery objectives per programs with the cell.
  • Ability to lead continuous improvement or lean projects in own area or across areas.
  • Executing major programs in early phases of production that requires additional ability to interface with engineering and program.
  • Supporting ISO, LEAN, and Quality initiatives.
  • Devises and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment.
  • Designs and analyzes inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment; conducts quality assurance tests; and performs statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for, products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications.
  • Audit quality systems for deficiency identification and correction.
  • Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 5 years of manufacturing and/or quality experience; OR a Master’s Degree with 3 years of manufacturing and/or quality experience; OR an Associate’s Degree with 7 years of manufacturing and/or quality experience; OR 9 years of manufacturing and/or quality experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.
  • Experience leading cross-functional, high-performing teams and mentoring direct reports.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret Clearance.
  • US citizenship required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, engineering, or other STEM area preferred.
  • 9 years or more of experience in a DOD manufacturing environment preferred.
  • 2 years or more of experience in management or leadership of people and/or processes in a Manufacturing or Production environment preferred.
  • Experience working in a union environment preferred.
  • Experience with SAP/MES preferred.

Skills

  • Proven ability to communicate clearly, deliver effective presentations, and analyze data to support decision-making.

Pay

Annual salary range: $105,000.00 - $157,600.00

Schedule

This position will be located 100% onsite at our BWI campus outside of Baltimore Maryland. This is a 2nd shift position.
