The Quality Manager 1 (2nd Shift) will provide direction to employees utilizing management guidelines and general policies. They will drive employee efficiency, meeting product cost, and schedule targets, manage the area to produce quality products, and engage employees to achieve their highest potential. The Manager is expected to work independently across organizations and perform required SAP/MES transactions.

Responsibilities

  • Manage approximately 15–20 represented (union) employees.
  • Drive the team to achieve monthly delivery objectives per programs with the cell.
  • Lead continuous improvement or lean projects in own area or across areas.
  • Provide direction related to Assessment and closure, IBASE, and inventory issues.
  • Execute major program phases of production requiring interface with engineering and program.
  • Support ISO, LEAN, and Quality initiatives.
  • Document and standardize tasks and efforts.
  • Manage represented employees and interact with Labor Relations.
  • Work to company policy, business conduct, and standards.
  • Devise and implement methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment.
  • Design and analyze inspection and testing processes, mechanisms, and equipment; conduct quality assurance tests; and perform statistical analysis to assess cost and responsibility for non-conforming products or materials.
  • Audit quality systems for deficiency identification and correction.
  • Ensure corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and documentation is compliant with requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 5 years of quality and/or manufacturing experience; OR
  • Master’s Degree with 3 years of quality and/or manufacturing experience; OR
  • Associates Degree with 7 years of quality and/or manufacturing experience; OR
  • 9 years of quality and/or manufacturing experience in lieu of degree.
  • Must be available for 2nd Shift.
  • Experience with leading teams and/or integrated projects.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and analytical skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in management or leadership of people and/or processes in a Manufacturing or Production environment.
  • Experience in Aircraft manufacturing or maintenance.
  • BS in business, engineering, or other STEM area.
  • Experience with dispositioning hardware for quality-related issues in a manufacturing facility.
  • Experience with Material Review Board (MRB) process.
  • Experience with electrical or mechanical design requirements and specifications.
  • Experience in Quality and Mission Excellence applications.
  • Green/Black Belt Certified in Lean Six-sigma.
  • Experience in Data Analytics and Statistical Analysis methods and techniques.
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel, Minitab, Tableau, or equivalent tools for statistical analysis.
  • Experience with Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) techniques.
  • Experience with Quality Notifications, Production Orders, and Purchase Orders.
  • Working knowledge of inspection tools, methods, and techniques used for hardware reviews, validation, and inspections.
  • Working experience of SAP, ISE, and CADSTAR.
  • Experience with ISO9001 or AS9100 Quality Management System and AS9102 First Article Inspections (FAI).

Pay

Primary level salary range: $105,000.00 – $157,600.00. The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
