Quality Lead

About the Role

Hood Container is seeking a dynamic leader and change agent to join our team as a Quality and Inventory Lead for our Allentown, PA plant. This role involves conducting internal and external quality audits, documenting and reporting nonconformances, responding to customer inquiries, and leading the daily activities of quality auditors within a fulfillment operation. Strong organizational, teamwork, and self-starter skills are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities

• Manage all inventory transactions, troubleshoot errors, and identify root causes while providing solutions to the management team.
• Review all inventory, including raw goods, identify errors, and direct/follow up on corrections needed.
• Support the Inventory Department to improve accuracy and efficiency in all plant-wide inventory processes.
• Accurately generate required month-end reporting promptly.
• Manage and direct physical inventories as needed.
• Ensure all inventory is reported to customers as requested.
• Review and manage aged and obsolete inventory monthly with the scheduler and process disposals.
• Establish quality standards to assist appropriate departments with new product development.
• Support all departments with quality concerns and provide customer assistance regarding quality issues, job specifications, customer products, and corrective actions.
• Initiate policies, procedures, and guidelines related to customer quality, product safety, and product legality.
• Support management with all audits.
• Lead and direct the daily activities of shift quality auditors.

Requirements

• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
• Excellent mathematical skills, computer literacy, and detail-oriented.
• Background in quality and inventory roles.
• Ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
• Willingness to work overtime and odd shifts as necessary to meet production requirements.
• Ability to write, audit, and evaluate procedures and quality/inventory systems for compliance standards.
• High School Diploma/G.E.D. required; ASQ Certified Quality Auditor desired.
