Quality Inspector (Production)

Essential Functions

• Independently performs the job of Inspector "A" in its entirety as assigned.
• Inspects completed parts with a minimum of supervision to stated specifications and standards.
• Performs dimensional inspections using methods such as Pin Gages, Barrel Gages, Thread Gages, O.D. Micrometer, Depth Micrometers, Dial Indicators, Blade Micrometers, Tri-Rolls, Recess gages, Spline Micrometer, Taper Gages, Calipers, Hex Gages, Blue Prints, and others.
• Performs chemical testing methods including Copper Sulfate Testing, Lead Acetate Testing, and others.
• Performs physical testing methods including Hardness Testing, Solderibility Testing, Torque Testing, and others.
• Places non-conforming product in the appropriate area.
• Records the incoming inspections as required by the work instructions.
• Moves orders after inspection functions are performed to the next appropriate location as designated on the router.
• Uses blue prints, micrometers, etc. as required.
• Takes a sample of finished parts and inspects for conformance to stated standards.
• Communicates with foreperson when needed to resolve problems with manufacturing that develops through normal execution of duties.
• Maintains micrometers and gauges in proper working condition, re-calibrating or replacing as required.
• Fills out log sheets as required by work instructions.
• Collaborates with operators, team leaders, manufacturing supervisor, other inspectors, Q.C. foreperson, and Quality Manager to transmit and exchange information pertinent to the work at hand.
• Observes all safety regulations in all duties.

General Job Functions

• Has a good understanding of acceptable quality standards and needs limited supervision from the foreperson.
• Records results of each inspection of samples on proper forms.
• Has a good working knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) techniques and can communicate these to operators.

Other Duties

• Detects error in blueprint specifications or routers and reports unusual quality problems to foreperson.
• Confers with foreperson when needed to resolve problems with manufacturing that develops through normal execution of duties.
• Performs other duties as required.
