Responsibilities
- Aid the Supervisor in managing the workflow of daily inspections with inspectors to meet quality requirements.
- Perform in-house calibrations of hand-held measuring instruments and manage the calibration system.
- Plan and execute projects, choosing appropriate methods to solve problems.
- Conduct preliminary inspections and receiving checks to ensure compliance with specifications using blueprints, drawings, and engineering knowledge.
- Carry out in-process and final inspections at various checkpoints during construction, removal, disassembly, repair, assembly, and installation of structures, systems, and components/equipment to prevent hold-ups, rework, and ensure specification conformity.
- Interpret technical specifications, directives, and relevant publications to identify discrepancies and deficiencies.
- Conduct audits, preparing reports and recommendations.
Requirements
- Working knowledge in the use of inspection/test equipment such as micrometers, height gauges, optical comparators, gage blocks, ring and plug gages.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints for inspection requirements, including understanding and measuring geometric tolerance features.
- GED/High school education required.
- One (1) to five (5) years’ direct experience in a quality-related position.
- Basic proficiency in MS Office, Excel, and Word.
