Quality Inspector

We are currently seeking a Quality Inspector to join our Manufacturing team in Spokane, WA. This individual is responsible for ensuring all products manufactured at the facility meet established quality standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements. This role provides hands-on inspection, testing, and documentation across incoming materials, in-process assemblies, and finished goods. The inspector identifies issues and feeds data to Quality Engineer, works with Production Supervisor to correct issues on the line. This role is a core role that serves as a key link between production, engineering, and quality management to drive continuous improvement and defect prevention in a high-volume, large-scale modular construction environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform dimensional, mechanical, and visual inspections on raw materials, in-process components, and finished modular mechanical products.
- Verify conformance to engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges, CMM, etc.).
- Conduct pressure/leak testing, electrical continuity checks, and functional testing of integrated modular units.
- Sample and test welds, coatings, seals, and mechanical connections for compliance.
- Maintain accurate inspection records, test results, and nonconformance reports (NCRs) in the quality management system (QMS).
- Support preparation of quality documentation for customer submittals, agency approvals (UL, ASME, ICC, etc.), and internal audits.
- Track quality metrics such as defect rates, first-pass yield, and rework trends.
- Work closely with production supervisors, engineers, and program managers to resolve quality issues at the source.
- Escalate recurring issues and recommend corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Participate in root-cause analysis (RCA), lean/continuous improvement events, and first article inspections.
- Ensure inspections comply with ISO 9001, ASME, AWS, and other relevant codes/standards.
- Verify product safety and compliance with customer specifications, industry regulations, and internal standards.
- Promote a culture of quality and accountability across the plant.
Requirements
- Associate degree or technical certification in Quality, Manufacturing, or Engineering preferred. Relevant experience may be substituted.
- 3+ years of experience in quality inspection within a manufacturing environment (preferably modular offsite construction products or mechanical, HVAC, piping, or electrical equipment).
- Strong knowledge of mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and technical specifications.
- Proficient with precision measurement tools and inspection equipment.
- Experience with QMS software, ERP platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or DfMA principles is a plus.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
- Certified Welding Inspector (CWI), ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI), or equivalent.
- OSHA 10/30 safety training

Pay and Schedule
The pay range for this position is $22.33 – $31.93 per hour; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This is a non-exempt role and will be paid hourly. A bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Base pay information is based on market location.
