Quality Engineering Assistant I (Temporary Part-Time)
About the role
Work in a fast-paced environment assisting Quality Engineers by performing technical and administrative tasks, ensuring projects run smoothly and efficiently. The Operations Strategic Capabilities Unit plays a fundamental role in enabling efficient business and program execution—from strategic capital investments, industrial operations, and an efficient supply chain, to state-of-the-art manufacturing and test operations and top-notch facilities management.
Responsibilities
- Assist engineers with research, data collection, and analysis to support project development and implementation.
- Prepare and maintain technical deliverables and reports, ensuring all information is accurate and up to date.
- Work closely with engineering teams to design, develop, test, and improve products and processes.
- Participate in hardware failure inspections and investigation, providing hands-on support to engineers.
- Review and approve First Article Inspection Reports per AS9102.
- Assist in reviewing and redlining drawings, specifications, and procedures for completeness and compliance to contract requirements.
- Make continuous improvement suggestions and participate in projects in area of responsibility.
- Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units, and the Company.
- Interact appropriately with others to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
Work Environment
- On-site work requiring in-person engagement three or more days each normally scheduled week at the primary work location.
- Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required.
- Work is performed in an office, laboratory, production floor, or cleanroom, outdoors, or remote research environment.
- May occasionally work in production work centers where use of protective equipment and gear is required.
- May access other facilities in various weather conditions.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Each higher-level related degree (e.g., Bachelor’s or Master’s) may substitute for two years of related experience. Degree must be from an accredited institution recognized by the US Secretary of Education or US Department of Education.
Preferred Qualifications
- Actively pursuing a technical degree.
Pay
Full-Time Salary Range: $40,003 - $64,006. Individual salaries are determined by factors including business considerations, local market conditions, internal equity, and candidate qualifications such as skills, education, and experience.
